2024/2025 Application for Secondary One Discretionary Place (S1DP) Notes for Parents on the Application

  1. According to the EDB policy, students may apply to no more than TWO secondary schools listed in the "Handbook for Application for Secondary 1 Discretionary Places”. Otherwise, his/her chance of acquiring is discretionary place will be forfeited.
  2. After completing the application form, you may submit the required documentation using the following methods :
    1. The application form for S1 Discretionary Places is to be completed and submitted together with the application form issued by EDB and the supporting documents of the student listed in point 3 below.
    2. Complete the application via the SSPA-ePlatform of the Education Bureau. For details, please visit https://www.edb.gov.hk/en/edu-system/primary-secondary/spa-systems/secondary-spa/general-info/.
  3. Documents required:
    1. Application Form for S1DP issued by the Education Bureau
    2. LSKC's S1DP Application Form
    3. Copies of applicant's school reports of Primary 5 (Whole Year) and Primary 6 (First Term)
    4. Copies of certificates of awards (if any)
    5. One 4" x 9" self-addressed stamped envelope
    6. Photocopy of ID Card or Birth Certificate of the student
    7. Recommendation letter is not required.

    Please bind all relevant documents with a binder clip and submit the application IN PERSON to the school office during the following period. Late applications will not be considered.

    Submission dates: 2 - 16 January 2024 (except Sundays and Public Holidays)

    Office hours: 9:00 am - 12:30 pm; 2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. (Monday to Friday)
    9:00 am - 12:00 noon (Saturday)

  4. ALL applicants will be invited for an interview, the date of which is 9 March 2024 (Saturday). Details will be announced in due course.
  5. Parents of successful S1 DP applicants will receive notification from school by letter and phone on 27 March 2024.
  6. The formal admission result will be announced on 9 July 2024 concurrently with the release of Central Allocation results.
  7. The School is permitted to allocate 40 discretionary places (DP) based on the Education Bureau’s set proportion for permitted DPs.
  8. The School's admission criteria for DP:
    • Academic results and EDB ranking (40%)
    • Interview performance (30%)
    • Performance in extra-curricular activities & services (30%) and Conduct B or above
